`Adat Istiadat Melayu Brunei` Project At UBD`s Chancellor Hall

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Majlis Tertinggi Melayu Islam Beraja along with Academy of Brunei Studies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) will hold a "Adat Istiadat Melayu Brunei" project at the UBD Chancellor Hall this afternoon.

The one-day event will be open to the public who wish to learn more about the Adat Istiadat Melayu Brunei. To ensure everything works smoothly the project committee conducted a full rehearsal of the event on April 5.

This included checking the audio visual system and making final touches to the exhibition and seating arrangement. Present during the full rehearsal was Dr Siti Norkhalbi binti Hj Wahsalfelah, Director of Brunei Studies; Shahrol Amira bin Abdullah, Deputy Director of Brunei Studies; APB lecturers; Adat Istiadat Department officers as well as students in the committee.

According to the event organiser, the event will consist of two phases. Phase one will be the Adat Istiadat Melayu inter-faculty quiz finals which will see representatives from Academy of Brunei Studies and Faculty of Arts and Social Science competing for first and second places.

The second phase will be the exhibition with the theme "Adat Dipelihara Masyarakat Sejahtera". The exhibition will showcase the Malay culture, attire and traditional music instruments. (Hj Afiq Hj Julah)
