Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School (SMSSA) in Jalan Muara yesterday afternoon held a cultural performance exchange with primary and secondary schools from Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

The students from Johor Bahru are in the country for the Johor Bahru Students Immersion Programme.

The event was aimed at showcasing both countries' traditional dances and cultures.

According to Aminudin bin Adam, Education Officer, Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the event served as a networking which he hoped would foster closer ties between the two countries.

Among the Brunei traditional song and dance performances held at the event were "Tarian DundangDundang", children medley songs such as "Ambuk di Tunjang", "Cuk Kerapang dan Kikik Serbang Merah", "Tarian Mendayut dan Alai Sekap", "Puteri Laila Mencanai", "Tarian Aduk-Aduk", "Tarian Joget Seri Kenangan" and many others.

In addition, Brunei Malay wedding culture and traditional costumes of the seven ethnic cultures were also showcased.
