Brunei Scouts All Set for Serumpun Budaya Camp
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Fifty-two Brunei Darussalam Scout Association scout members left the country on Sunday to join the Serumpun Budaya Indonesia-Malaysia-Brunei Darussalam 2010 camp at the Sambas province of Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The Brunei scout contingent left with two-bus load to Sambas province.
To mark the event, a ceremony to hand over the flag was held prior to the departure.
The flag was presented by the president of the association, Dato Paduka Awang Hj Idris bin Hj Abas to the Commissioner of Cub Scout Unit, Awang Hj Othman bin Durani.
Among the mission of Brunei's participation is to bring and introduce Brunei's culture such as the dances, songs, cooking and food including Brunei Halal products.
Other objectives for participating include providing exposure to the local scouts, promoting Brunei as a MIB country, to inculcate the spirit of unity among scouts from the three territories, as well as to preserve the tradition and culture of BorneoIsland.
