Colouring Contest at Yayasan

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - A Colouring Brunei Folk Story Competition organised by Program Kesusasteraan Melayu (Malay Literature Programme), Pengurusan Sastera (Literature Management) AS2203 Faculty of Literature and Social Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam was held yesterday morning at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in the capital.

The competition, which was divided into two categories namely "A" for children within the age of five to eight years and "B" for children within the age of nine to 12 years, was one of the events under the Family Day of Festival Sastera (Literature Festival) 2011.

The top three children in Category "A" from first place to second runner up were 'man Harishah bte Mohd Fadillah (7 years old), Qurratu Ain Hasyiqin bte PA Mohd Hasdi (six) and Nur Rabiah bte Husain.

In Category "B", first place went to Iman Hakeemah bte Muhd Fadillah (11), first runner up to Nurin Fazlina bte Bahrin (10) and second runner up went to Mohd Abdul Herman bin Haji Suhaili (12).

Some 23 children participated in Category "A", while in Category "B" a total of 19 children participated.

Presenting the prizes to the winners was Awang Suip bin Haji Abdul Wahab, the Head of Literature Development and Propagation Section, Language and Literature Bureau.
