’Malam Mesra’ to Celebrate Hari Raya

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - The student council of IGS College organised ‘Malam Mesra’ to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri at the main campus of IGS College in Kiulap Board of Directors and a large number of students, parents, and staff attended the event.

Shahmi Hakim bin Hj Shahibulbahri, President of Student Council, was present to welcome the guests and thank the management and staff for providing guidance, quality education and excellent learning environment at the college.

Pengiran Hajah Fatimah binti Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and CEO of IGS College, in her remarks congratulated the student council on successfully organising such a big and successful event.

She also highlighted the achievements made by IGS College this year including the launching of Degree programmes and a recent influx of over 400 new students.

"Though this number has been a catalyst towards expansion, IGS College has long aspired to be Centre of Excellence. With you and your continued support, I am sure we can achieve this," she said.

She also announced the restructuring of salaries of academic staff by the Board of Directors, in recognition of their contributions and support to make IGS College one of the premiere institutions of higher education in Brunei.

The event also saw some performances by the students, including music, traditional dances and cultural show, followed by a cake cutting ceremony to mark Teacher’s Day 2011.

During the event, lucky draws were also given away to over 50 lucky participants.
