Malay Dance in Nusa Laila Puteri School’s Celebrate

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Nusa Laila Puteri School, Sungai Akar branch held two functions in one Teacher’s Day and Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The functions were held at the school’s open space recently.

The events started with the singing of national anthem led by Kindergarten Three Yellow and Blue.

It was followed by mass recitation of surah Yaasiin led by Muhammad Faizuddin bin Haji Ahmad, eight, pupil of Year Three and a doa led by Dennis Wae bin Nasrul.

The ’Nasyid’ performance entitled ’Ya Allah, Ya Allah Yakaro’ was performed by pupils of Year Two and Year Three, led by Nabih bin Haji Ibrahim and supervised by Ustazah Asnawati binti Tawfik Ismail.

While the Kindergarten One and Kindergarten Two pupils, dressed in beautiful costume performed a dance with the ’Action Song’ entitled - Butterfly and Top of the World, under the supervision of Teacher Hajah Balqis binti Tinguan and Teacher Hajah Marian binti Abdul Hamid.

The Year Two pupils performed the Malay Dance entitled ’Tepuk Tangan’ under the supervision of Teacher Dayangku Rashidah binti Pengiran Haji Dewata.

To further enliven the events, Year Five pupils sang the song ’Teacher’s Day’ supervised by Teacher Anelyn Lao-Ay.

For self-defence, Year Four pupils demonstrated the ’silat’ skills with ’Jurus Tunggal Sambung’, under the supervision of Ustaz Simoto.

The song, ’Hari Raya’ led by Teacher Anelyn Lao-Ay, was sang by all the teachers and pupils.

Concluding the functions was the prize giving ceremony for the-teachers, presented by Dr Hajah Sharifah Noor binti Syed Ibrahim, the school’s principal.

The functions ended with refreshments being served for the parents and teachers.
