Brunei II Area Leaders Committee Organises Teacher’s Day Celebration

Bandar Seri Begawan - About 50 head teachers and principals from 32 special religious schools within the Brunei II area attended a Teacher`s Day celebration yesterday at the Centrepoint Hotel`s Season Restaurant.

Present as the event`s guest of honour was Islamic Studies Officer (Brunei II) Ustazah Hjh Laki Hj Ibrahim, who later presented prizes and gifts to the day`s celebrated educators.

Among the recipients were Hj Jaini Hj Hamid, Hjh Salamah Hj Kalong, Zurairatul Zawiah Dato Seri Setia Hj Rajid and Hj Mohammad Hj Yahya, who have left their previous posts to move on to other postings, such as with the government and UBD.

Organised by the Brunei II Area Leaders Committee, the function was held as one of their annual activities, as well as to foster closer ties between all participants.

"The event was a chance to recall and remember the accomplishments and deeds carried out by the teachers," stated the guest of honour in her speech.

She also pointed out that their capability in producing students who succeed and excel in big numbers is no small matter, requiring a high level of commitment and energy. She therefore urged all educators to do their very best, despite any challenges they may face.
