Dzikir competition for Brunei mosques

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Dzikir competition for Brunei mosque youths in conjunction with the Maulud Nabi ceremony was held at Kg Sinaut mosque yesterday. The competition was organised by the committee members of the Takmir mosque of Kg Sinaut.

Chairman Hj Masri Hj Muhammad said that the competition was an annual event to expose the youths` talents, as well as to preserve the dzikir and traditions of Brunei Malays.

A total of four male groups and four female groups took part representing each district in the final of the dzikir competition. The champion for the male category was Kg Telisai mosque. Kg Bokok mosque came in second and third place went to Kg Sinaut mosque.

Meanwhile, for the female category, Mohammad Bolkiah mosque of Kg Serusop came in first place. Second and third place went to Kg Sinaut and RPN Kg Pandan Belait mosque respectively.

A tausyeh was performed by RPN Kg Pandan Belait mosque, as well as a dzikir performance by the guest of honour and judges. The guest of honour, Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs, Ustaz Hj Abdul Kahar Hj Hussein, presented the prizes.
