Patriotic song composition competition now open

Bandar Seri Begawan - The 24th Brunei Darussalam National Day 2008 Creative Team Committee will be organising a patriotic song composition competition in conjunction with the 25th Brunei Darussalam National Day 2009.

The competition is open to Brunei Darussalam citizens and residents and entry forms are available at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The forms must be submitted together with the music, lyric, music score arrangement and a song demo tape, which would be assessed by this November before selecting the best 10 songs to go through the final stage of the competition early next February. The song must not be less than three minutes or more than four minutes and should be appropriate for the national day.

According to a statement by the 24th Brunei Darussalam National Day 2008 Creative Team Committee, the objective of the competition is to provide a platform for local music talents to voice out their patriotic messages through song composition in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam`s Silver Jubilee National Day next year.
