BKPBM Signs Co-operative Networks in West Kalimantan

Pontianak, MelayuOnline.com- During the visit to West Kalimantan, Melayuonline.com has successfully made some agreements with several significant institutions there. Along the celebration of West Kalimantan Malay Cultural Festival (FSBM-KB), MelayuOnline.com utilized the festival by conducting MoU signings with Kadriah Palace, Ismahayana Landak Palace, and Malay Adat and Cultural Assembly of West Kalimantan (MABM-KB).

MelayuOnline.com`s cultural journey during July 19th – 24th, was actually aimed at participating in the fifth FSBM-KB. However, the crews initiated to broaden up the purposes above to gain data or information about Malay world in West Kalimantan.

The crews spent several times visiting Malay palaces in West Kalimantan such as Kadriah Palace, Surya Negara Sanggau Palace, Almukarramah Sintang Palace, and Ismahayana Landak Palace. From those visits, appeared the intention to create co-operative agreements with those institutions by conducting MoU signings.

“These are the real MelayuOnline.com`s efforts to preserve and develop Malay culture which scatter over in West Kalimantan,” Mahyudin Al Mudra – the head of MelayuOnline.com – said.

Before departure from Yogyakarta, Mahyudin summoned his entourage to endeavour to create co-operative networks during the visit to West Kalimantan. Through such efforts, MelayuOnline.com believes to enhance the spiritual and economical prosperities of Malay people in West Kalimantan. One of the strategic ways is developing West Kalimantan`s historical tourism sector.


On Thursday (24/07), two MoUs were signed in two different locations. The MoU between the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture (BKPBM) and Ismahayana Palace was signed in Rahayu Hotel and Restaurant, Pointianak City; while the MoU signing between BKPBM and Kadriah Sultanate took place in Kadriah Palace.

Drs. Gusti Suriansyah, M.Si said, “I wish this MoU signing would bring a better development for Ismahayana Landak Palace so that our palace can be known by the broader publics.” During that informal meeting in the hotel, Suriansyah realizes that Ismahayana Landak Palace`s development programme cannot be carried out personally, cooperations with other institutions is a must.


Came to sign the MoU were Mahyudin and Suriansyah. Came also, as the witnesses to the MoU signing were Hadi Kurniawan – BKPBM`s Daily Executive; Yuhastina Sinaro – BKPBM`s Public Relations Officer; and H. Gusti Machmud Hamid – Yang Dipertua Adat Istiadat Keraton Landak.

At the end of the MoU signing with Ismahayana Landak Palace, Suriansyah presented “Induk Lontar Keraton Landak” to BKPBM. In addition, Induk Lontar keratin Landak is a souvenir containing the genealogy of Ismahayana Palace`s kings.

After the MoU signing with Ismahayana Landak Palace, the crews moved to Kadriah Palace to sign another MoU. The arrival of MelayuOnline.com`s crews was welcomed graciously by Syarif Selamat Joesoef Al Kadrie.


“We welcome cordially your arrival in Kadriah Palace. Hopefully, this MoU signing would bring a better future for both of us,” Joesoef said.

Knowing such great passion, Mahyudin entrusted Kadriah royal staffs that BKPBM will totally help Kadriah Palace to be known as one of wonderful historical sites in West Kalimantan. “We wish this year BKPBM could publish some books and booklets about Malay kingdoms in West Kalimantan,” Mahyudin promised.

Mahyudin`s promise to publish historical books is also one of the clauses included in the MoU. Both BKPBM and Kadriah Palace agreed to conduct data exchange for publishing historical books, booklets, and producing royal souvenirs.
