Lively Dances Add Colour To Reception
The Celebration Of The National Day Of Brunei Darussalam

Islamabad - Colourful activities, including lively songs and dances, created an ambience of true celebration at a reception marking the National Day of Brunei Darussalam here on Monday evening.

Brunei Darussalam regained its independence from United Kingdom on January 1, 1984. Brunei Darussalam is a country located on the north coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. The culture of Brunei is predominantly Malay (reflecting its ethnicity with heavy influences from Islam).

The event formally started with the arrival of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan. It was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Ambassador of Brunei Abdul Jalil Ahmed accompanied the minister in the ceremony.

The cultural show, presented on the occasion, charged up the atmosphere on the occasion. Young girls and boys performed on different songs. Their colourful presentations enthralled the guests present on the occasion and glued them to their seats. Clad in traditional dresses, the performers depicted the true culture of their country through their songs and dances.

The ambience of the place created by the embassy staff complemented performances on the occasion, giving a feeling to the guests as if they were actually in Brunei Darussalam. The atmosphere was made more attractive with the use of flowers and candles.

The sumptuous traditional food of Brunei Darussalam was also served on the occasion with finger-licking flavours of herbs. The aroma of the food was irresistible for the guests who enjoyed the cuisines in a traditional setting.

A large number of diplomats, political leaders and elite of the city thoroughly enjoyed the reception.
