Textile Museum Launches Indonesian Textile Festival 2007

Jakarta- The Indonesian Textile Museum on Tuesday launched "The Indonesian Textile Festival 2007" which will be held until July 31.

Advisor of the Rumah Pesona Kain (The House of Clothing Charm) Linda Agum Gumelar officially opened the event at the present of Textile Museum Director Diah Damayanti and lovers of Indonesian traditional clothing.

Linda expressed a hope that lovers of the Indonesian traditional clothing, especially the younger generation, could promote the nation‘s image through their contemporary designs on the Indonesian traditional clothes.

Several activities to be held in conjunction the festival would include a traditional and contemporary textile exhibition, bazaar of traditional clothes and a batik-making course which is free for visitors.
