Indonesian Exhibition Opens
Karachi, Pakistan - Sindh Tourism Minister Shazia Marri and Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Ishak Latuconsina Friday inaugurated the 2nd Indonesian Solo Exhibition at a local hotel.
The Republic of Indonesia Karachi Consulate is holding the two-day exhibition.
Appreciating the efforts of the Indonesian embassy, Marri said the beautiful event would help boost relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, adding that both countries have very strong brotherly relations.
“An aspect of Indonesia reflected by this exhibition is that it has a very diverse but unified culture,” she remarked.
The Indonesian ambassador told Daily Times that the purpose of the exhibition was to enhance relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.
“Along with exploring Pakistani tourism markets for Indonesia, we want to portray the real image of Pakistan, which is quite different from what a part of international media is portraying,” he added.
More than 400 ethnic groups live in Indonesia but all of them have one motherland and are united, he said.
Marri along with Latuconsina visited various stalls at the exhibition. Indonesian children also performed a traditional dance of the Indonesian Sumatra province.
