20 Indonesian Journalists To Visit Malaysia

20 Indonesian Journalists To Visit Malaysia
Jakarta- Twenty Indonesian journalists will be making a week-long "Muhibbah" visit to Malaysia to know the country better in efforts to enhance understanding.

While in Kuala Lumpur, they are expected to have a dialogue with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and meet Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar, several other ministers and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

They will also hold meetings with several non-governmental organisations including Mercy Malaysia and have discussions with Malaysian senior editors and young leaders.

The journalists will leave for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Before returning home on Feb 17, they will taken on a tour to Langkawi.

Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Zainal Abidin Mohamed Zain said here today that the Muhibbah visit would continue from time to time because of its benefits in bilateral relations.

"A visit like this not only enables the journalists to see life in Malaysia but more importantly channel accurate information to the 230 million population in Indonesia," he said.

He hoped that after listening to explanations and having dialogues with Malaysian leaders, they could deflect negative views which could adversely affect the good ties between Malaysia and Indonesia.
