Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Brunei Darussalam will be hosting the "Pertemuan Sasterawan Nusantara XV", a convention that is expected to attract 200 literary experts from the Malay Archipelago from Dec 11-13, 2009 at the Language and Literature Bureau, Berakas.
This will be the fourth time the country will host the event. The public are invited to join the event. Participation forms can be obtained at Urus Setia PSN XV, Peti Surat 62, Pejabat Pos PMM, Berakas BB3577, Brunei Darussalam.
Brunei first played host to the convention in 1985, which was officiated by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam`s late father, Sir Muda Omar Ali Saiffudien. Brunei also hosted the convention in 1994 and 2001.
In a press conference yesterday, Acting Director of Language and Literature Bureau, Hajah Aminah binti Haji Momin said the convention`s theme "Mencarukkan Sastera Nusantara" will highlight and introduce the literary works of Sir Muda Omar Ali Saiffudien, who was an Islamic poet, as well as other literary figures from the Malay Archipelago (Nusantara) such as Raja Ali Haji and Hajah Fansuri.
