Sekar Jagat Batik Carnival

Jakarta, Indonesia - The Solo Batik Carnival will complement the batik party in the city.

According to Solo Batik Carnival Art Director, Bambang Besur Suryono, the event is inspired by the Rio de Janeiro yearly carnival in Brazil.

“The initiator of Jember Fashion Carnival, Dynand Fariz, also helped us in formulating the concept,” said Bambang.

The carnival held on 23 June will take place on a three kilometer stretch of road.

For the third time, all participants must wear Sekar Jagat motif batik.

The motif is considered quite pretty because of its colorful flower motives.

Through these activities, Bambang wants to give a moral message to the community on environment preservation.

The Solo Batik Carnival and Solo Batik Fashion will be held during the 3rd Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban Development in Surakarta, attended by hundreds of delegation members from 30 countries, and 17 of them are ministers from several countries.

They were invited to watch Solo Batik Fashion.

They will even be in the midst of the Solo Batik Carnival by riding a carriage.
