Yogyakarta, Melayuonline.com – While the sad memory of Padang earthquake last year is still clear in mind, Indonesia has to shed tears again for those suffering from a recent earthquake and tsunami in Mentawai Islands. The disaster has devastated people’s homes in Pagai Selatan Island, killed and wounded hundreds. Many people have not been found until today.

Only one day later, on Tuesday, 26 October 2010, Merapi erupted. Thousands of people began to live in tents with limited access to clean clothing and food. Homes, buildings, rice fields, all shattered by the hot ash clouds coming out of the angry volcano. These people are now living in modest places together with countless others, breathing heavily from choking, sulfur-contaminated air.
