National Dayak Convention
Palangkaraya, Indonesia - Djoko Suyanto, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Justice and Security Affairs, is scheduled to open the Third National Dayak Council convention in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, tonight. For the next four days, the meeting will involve 800 people from, not only from the four provinces in Kalimantan, but also from Java and Malaysia.
“Besides drafting the budget, the meeting will demand budget accountability of the 2006 – 2010 committee and select a new council members for the 2010 – 2014 period,” said Tahampunah Singseng, the committee chief. The meeting will start with a cultural parade, presented by all groups in Central Kalimantan.
