Traditional Boat Race On Dec 5

Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Brunei Darussalam National Boat Race Association in collaboration with Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will organise a National Traditional Boat Race Championship on December 5 at Serasa Sports Complex.

A total of seven categories will be contested at the race.

The highlight of the race will be 30 paddlers marathon race using traditional boats striving for challenge trophy donated by former Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Mejar General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Muhammad bin Haji Daud.

The 20 paddlers competition will be first held using fibre glass boats. They will be competing for the President Trophy donated by Haji Haris bin Haji Ibrahim, President of Brunei Darussalam National Boat Race Association.

Apart from local boat race teams the championship will also be participated by many from neighbouring states.

Entry forms are available from Haji Lakim bin Haji Tinggal at 8834311 and Abd Rahman bin Ahmad at 8796249. Forms must be submitted not later than Nov 30.
