Jalan Jaksa Festival on July 23-24, 2011
Jakarta, Indonesia - As an effort to advance tourism potential and tourist visit, local and international, Central Jakarta Administration to hold Jalan Jaksa Festival on next July 23-24, 2011. It is planned that the event will be opened by Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo. Many of Betawi arts will enliven the event.
"The event will be enlivened by Betawi traditional arts such as palang pintu, pencak silat, gambang kromong, tanjidor, marawis, ondel-ondel, etc," said Central Jakarta Head Sub-dept. of Tourism Triyugo Prasetyo, Thursday (7/21).
According to him, the program will be held on Jl Jaksa and Jl Wahid Hasyim. Not only presenting Betawi arts, but the festival is also holding competition and bazaar from eight sub-districts in Central Jakarta. Other events are Abang None 2011 finalists booth, warung none, painter community and tourism industry booth.
"We like to perform how to apply a batik pattern, collaboration dancing from East and West Kalimantan, Bengkulu, also local artist such as Steven Jam Band, Monkey Boots, KDK, Sabeni and Diary Milk," he added.
The festival which is themed, What`s Up on Jaksa Street (Ade ape nih di Jalan Jaksa) is aimed to build supporter elements from local residents. It is hoped the festival will gain the number of international and local tourist especially to visit Jl Jaksa which popular with its cheap accommodation among foreign tourist and backpacker.
