Sumatran Town Ready for Flower Parade
Jakarta, Indonesia - The South Sumatra town of Pagaralam is set to host the National Flower Festival from Oct. 24 to 29, which will feature a parade of flower-ornamented vehicles from 40 regencies/municipalities across the country.
Malaysia and Singapore have also confirmed participation in the event, which is aimed at promoting tourism in the town, Pagaralam deputy mayor Ida Fitriati said on Friday.
The festival will feature the parade and 621 dancers.
“The flower festival is one of Pagaralam administration’s moves to promote Pagaralama as a tourist city. Hopefully with this, Pagaralam will be more widely known,” Ida said, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
