Fun-Filled Days At Tasik Merimbun

Tutong - Sixth year students of International School Brunei (ISB)‘ spent a fun-filled three days, two nights in Tasek Merimbun experiencing traditional culture and stunning wildlife.

Tasek Merimbun is the largest black water lake in Brunei Darussalam.

The Merimbun Park which covers an area of 7,800 was declared an Asean National Heritage site in 1984.

The area is a sanctuary for variety of flora and fauna including the Borneo Gibbons, Maroon Languors, many birds and more than forty species of dragonfly

Nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers will enjoy exploring the many trails in this park that provide an awesome view of the wildlife and greenery.

The youngsters also had the opportunity to learn traditional Dusun games, handicrafts, music and dance as well as exploring the lake, trekking through the surrounding area and even planted rice.

The evenings included a night safari on the lake, quizzes and wildlife talks.

The children were also able to utilise the Tasek Merimbun exhibition centre to learn more about the local wildlife and archaeological finds.

The group was joined by a representative from the Brunei Museums, Khairul Nurul Arsyad Hj Abdul Malek who presented certificates to the students.
