Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony At Kg Bengkurong Mosque

Bandar Seri Begawan - Kg Bengkurong Mosque recently organised a Khatam al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the-Hijrah New Year.

Present as the guest of honour was Md. Hanafi bin Hj Zaini, Officer of Mosque Affairs, Zone 3 of the Brunei-Muara District.

The event began with the recital of Surah ad-Dhuha followed by the reading of Takhtim.

The doa khatam was read by Hazqyl bin Haji Hambali.

According to Imam Hj Abidin bin Hj Matarshad, the event was the first of its kind held at the mosque. Muqaddam classes are held every Friday from gain to 10am for children aged between six and 12.

When asked what his hopes were for the future of the children after completing the Quran, he said that he wishes for all of them to continue reading and preserving their skills as well as to further their knowledge by attending night classes and refine their reading techniques. He also said that they should learn to read the Quran with proper tajwid (correct pronunciation and intonation) and become skilled at taranum (refining and beautifying recitation with melody).

The event ended with a doa selamat read by Imam Hj Nasrul Hazimin bin Hi Sapar.
