S`pore, Indonesia make progress at maritime boundaries talks

Singapore - The delegations from the governments of Singapore and Indonesia have held the fifth round of technical discussions on maritime boundaries between their two countries in Singapore. The two—day meeting ended on Thursday.

The Singapore delegation was led by Mr S Tiwari, Special Consultant, International Affairs Division, Attorney—General‘s Chambers.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian delegation was led by Mr Arif Havas Oegroseno, Director for Treaties on Political Security and Territorial Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs.

In a joint statement, both sides said substantive progress was made towards reaching agreement on the boundary between Singapore and Indonesia in the western part of the Singapore Strait.

The two sides will meet again to further their work. — CNA/vm
