BKPBM to Launch Malay www.malaytourism.com

Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com- Balai Kajian dan Pengembangan Budaya Melayu-BKPBM (The Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture) will launch www.malaytourism.com. The launching of this portal is one of BKPBM`s efforts to introduce Malay tourism destinations including those in Indonesia and in other countries having Malay cultural background.

BKPBM argues that Malay Archipelago possesses overwhelming natural resources and cultural heritage. The diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, and believes can also be found in Malay areas. Mountains, beaches, rivers, valleys, forests, and etc., are valuable potencies for creating better prosperity of surrounding people.

According to Mahyudin Al Mudra, the Head of BKPBM and MelayuOnline.com, the publishing of MalayTourism.com is an effort to function God`s blessing for improving people`s prosperity, especially those in Indonesia and all in Malay areas. He hoped that MalayTourism.com would be able to preserve Malay culture and to increase people`s economy.

MalayTourism.com is a portal which provides information about natural resources, exotic destinations, traditions, performing arts, and custom ceremonies to describe the diversity and identity of Malay Archipelago. From this portal, hopefully we would discover the beauty and the uniqueness of Malay Archipelago. And, we hope that this could raise our awareness of cultural values spreading over the Malay areas.

 “MalayTourism.com is not solely aimed for economic purposes. It is a medium to raise multicultural awareness. By introducing various culture, language, custom, and nature beauty of Malay areas in different ways, tourism can be a medium to create universal understanding among human beings.” Mahyudin said

Similarly, Nursaid Ali Rido – chief-in-editor of MelayuOnline.com – remarked “MalayTourism.com was established from the awareness of tourism`s potencies. If we were able to develop those potencies; innovation, creativity, and efforts in creating cross-cultural understanding among the nations will emerge soon.” (AS/brt/04/02-08)
