Youth learn art of wearing `dastar` and `sinjang`

Bandar Seri Begawan - Over 20 participants from Kampung Masin mosque attended a workshop organised by the Takmir committee of Kg Masin‘s mosque on how to put on the traditional wear - "dastar" and "sinjang".

The one-day workshop was held at the mosque‘s compound and was delivered by Cikgu Haji Taha bin Haji Sulaiman. In his briefing, he demonstrated the many ways on how to wear the "dastar" and the "sinjang" before delving further into how they were made.

Before the workshop commenced, the al-Fatihah was read by Imam Haji Asmat bin Haji Tuah, head Imam of Kg Masin.

During the workshop, participants also tried to wear the attire on their own.

One of the objectives of organising the workshop was to introduce the youths and village residents the art of wearing Brunei‘s traditional attire so that the practice would not be forgotten. By Arif Syafiq
