Brunei Sultan attends Sarawak Regatta

Kuching - Brunei`s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah joined thousands of people at the Sarawak Regatta on the third and final day of the popular annual event along Sarawak River.

The royal visitor flagged off the main event – Raja Sungai (King of the River) – which offered a cash prize of RM10,000.

This year`s event attracted over 6,000 participants from more than 320 teams.

The Sarawak Regatta was first held in 1872.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah will tour the Borneo Highland Resorts near here and visit an expo to mark the 45th anniversary of the formation of Malaysia at the state indoor stadium today before returning home in the evening
