TMII Holds Indonesian Festival

Jakarta - In conjunction with its 34th anniversary this year, Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah--TMII) will hold Indonesian Festival which will feature various Indonesian arts and culture since prehistory era until now.

The Indonesian Festival is scheduled to be held from April 18 until 26, 2009. The Head of Taman Mini`s Public Relation division, Jeremias PT Lahama said to Antara News Agency today that the festival is the first program ever held by Taman Mini to observe its anniversary.

In previous years, the park management only held some performances to celebrate the anniversaries. However, as of this year, it holds an Indonesian art and cultural festival involving all provinces in Indonesia.

The festival will be highlighted by traditional fashion shows, regional product expo, wedding expo, cultural seminar, traditional dance performances, and cultural carnival. Besides, there will also be Indonesian renaissance expo, flora and fauna expo, regional handicraft expo, a painting exhibition of maestro Raden Saleh, culinary contests, children opera, etc. (Ani)
