99 Painters Stage Exhibition In Jakarta

Jakarta - A total of 99 painters from 21 provinces in the country staged an exhibition of their works here which included pictures, statues, drawings and videos.

"This exhibition shows the government`s attention to painters in the country," Jajat Suparman, culture, arts and film director general at the Culture and Tourism ministry, said when opening the exhibition here Tuesday evening.

Painters participating in the exhibition, which will last until May 31, 2009 included Nyoman Gunarsa and I Wayan Dania from Bali, Koliman and Nurbaito from Bandar Lampung, Agung Hanafi Purboaji and Agus Putu Suyadnya from Yogyakarta, AB Soetikno and Nani Sakri from Jakarta.
