KL Cultural Fest To Promote Malaysia`s Culture
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - The KL International Cultural Tourism Festival 2009 that showcases traditional and contemporary dance performances from various countries will be held for three days from Friday till Sunday at Central Market here.
It is organised by Rentasche Carriers Sdn Bhd, managed by Teratai Event Management and sponsored by the Ministry Of Tourism Malaysia.
Fauzia Sultan, Director (Festival Division) of Teratai Event Management said among the countries participating in the event are Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and including the host country, Malaysia.
"The event is being organised to further promote the country`s cultural tourism potential at the global level, while creating awareness amongst the people of Malaysia of the uniqueness of the world`s traditions," she told reporters after the launching of The KL International Cultural Tourism Festival 2009 here Friday night.
It was launched by Abd Rahim Khan, organising chairman of The KL International Cultural Tourism Festival 2009.
More than 50,000 visitors from locally and abroad were expected to come to the event, she said.
The cultural events will be held from 2pm to 11 pm daily and admission is free.
