FM George Yeo Meets Malaysian Counterpart Anifah Aman In KL

Singapore - Singapore Foreign Minister George Yeo met his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. Mr Yeo is there at the invitation of Mr Anifah.

A joint statement from Singapore`s Foreign Ministry and Malaysia`s Wisma Putra said both foreign ministers had a good discussion and reaffirmed the close bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two nations.

On the Points of Agreement (POA) issue, they agreed to take a broader win-win approach to resolve the issue.

The foreign ministers discussed ways to move the POA issue forward, and agreed to meet again at an early date to sort out further details.

They also discussed the two countries` prime ministers having a retreat in Singapore later this year.

The foreign ministers` meeting follows the recent visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to Singapore, where he and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong agreed to have the foreign ministers of both countries work on the issue of the Points of Agreement. (CNA/yb)
