Terengganu Open Keris Competition On Aug 1

Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia - The Terengganu Ancient Culture Society with cooperation of the Terengganu Museum Board will organise the Terengganu Open Keris competition here on Aug 1.

Museum assistant curator, liaison and marketing Azlaizie Razali said the inaugural event is open to keris enthusiasts not only in Malaysia but also those in Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand and others.

“We expect many keris enthusiasts from across the Malay archipelago will come here for the competition since it is included in the Terengganu tourism calendar,” she said in a statement here Sunday.

The keris will be judged in eight categories; Malela, Bugis Lok, Bugis Sepokal, Alang Berpamor, Alang Tanpa Berpamor, Pandai Sarah Berpamor, Pandai Sarah Tanpa Pamor and Senjata Antik.
