Malay Literature

Sayur Pakis (Fern Curry)

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams young fern
  • 1 liter coconut milk
  • 2 dried black tamarind

Spices:

  • 8 cloves red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 10 red chili
  • 1 cm galingale
  • 1 am gingger
  • 2 cm turmeric
  • 1 ½ teaspoonful salt
  • 10 pieces basil
  • 1 piece fresh turmeric leaf
  • 1 piece bay leaf

How to make Gulai Pakis:

  1. Boil coconut milk, spices, dried black tamarind and stir.
  2. Add fern and stir until cooked.

For 6 servings
