Promote Our Unique Culture To Countries Than Know Little About Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Malaysia's unique culture, tradition and unity among races must be aggressively promoted among countries that know little about Malaysia said the Prime Minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
Rosmah said by diverting the attention of tourism promotion to countries that know little about Malaysia, at least that particular country would be able to know our rich and unique tradition, culture and harmony among the various that live in unity here.
"Apart from the yearly promotional show in London, why not we switch our direction to countries where Malaysia is not well known," she told reporters after accepting a courtesy call by international talk show celebrity and lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, at her official residence here on Thursday.
The Prime Minister's wife also urged the relevant authorities to source for more innovative and effective form of promotion rather than just placing advertisements that can be expensive.
In welcoming the Tourism Ministry's effort to bring Stewart to the country as a strategic promotional move, Rosmah said it can help promote Malaysia to the western world.
"During my meeting with Martha, she said that Malaysia is an attractive destination and different from other countries. GOD willing, I feel we can attract more tourists from the west, especially from the United States," she said.
According to Rosmah, Martha loves 'roti canai' and spicy fried chicken and praised Malaysians for being friendly and smiling always.
Stewart who is here upon the invitation of the Tourism Ministry is expected to be an instant hit with her Malaysian audience, and generate considerable international publicity for Malaysia as a tourist destination.
The American celebrity's entourage would visit Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Kota Kinabalu for a week.
