Kota Kinabalu - The United Sabah Bajau Organisation (USBO) has signed a memorandum of understanding with an organisation representing the Bajau in Indonesia to forge co-operation in various fields, particularly the economic sector.
The MoU was signed yesterday with the Keturunan Keluarga Bajo Sulawesi Tenggara (Kekar Bajo) at a brief ceremony in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
USBO president Datuk Seri Salleh Said said at a dinner he hosted for the two sides that the MoU would help establish a network of co-operation among the Bajau community.
Kekar Bajo president Abdul Manan said he hoped that the MoU would strengthen co-operation in various aspects.
He said there were an estimated 20 million people of Bajau origin in Indonesia.
