Kuching to host Gawai Harvest Festival Open House

Kuching - Bruneians are among thousands of visitors expected to visit Kuching, Sarawak, to witness the Gawai Harvest Festival Open House this Saturday at the Stadium Perpaduan Kuching.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Mizan Zainal Abidin and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah are expected to grace the festival.

Also expected to be present at the festival are Prime Minister of Malaysia, Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Minister of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage and other cabinet ministers.

The festival will include stage and cultural performances.

Meanwhile, travel agencies and media representatives from Brunei were also invited by Tourism Malaysia for a mega familiarisation programme in conjunction with the festival.

The programme, hosted by Sarawak Tourism Board and running from June 13 to 18, will include visits to various places of interest in the state. The accommodation at Hilton Kuching is sponsored by Tourism Malaysia. (By Achong Tanjong)
