Brief Information:
One out of several events to celebrate the upcoming holy Ramadhan fasting month is the traditional night market called Maleman Sriwedari or the Selikuran Eve. This event is held to commemorate the attaining of Prophet Mohammad`s first revelation from God that is the Holy Koran. The highlight of the fair takes place in the 20th day of Ramadhan evening. The procession starts from the Kasunanan palace and ends at The Sriwedari park from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.. (`Selikur` means twenty one).
