Malay history

Historical Fortress

Fortress was a military construction and building designed for defense from enemy‘s attact. The fortress was mostly designed as the wall that was equipped with the house or was merely built in the form of ditch. Usually the form of defense fortress was matched with the geographical condition, strategy, and the progress of military technology at that time. Malay history was full of warfare and conflict that pushed them to build the defense fortress. Several defense fortresses of the historical legacy of Malay kingdoms and society still can be seen at the present day.
