Mangkunegaran Revitalization This Year

Surakarta, Indonesia - The Surakarta City government has assured that revitalization of the Mangkunegaran Palace and the Radya Pustaka Museum will be carried out this year.

The revitalization funds are to be provided by the central government.

“We did not know the exact amount for sure,” said Yohannes Bambang Sri Nugroho, the head of Surakarta’s city planning, yesterday.

The fund proposed was 20 billion.

This year, the revitalization could be carried out only for museums, pavilions and the former Artillerie-Kavallerie building.

For the Radya Pustaka Museum revitalization, a fund of Rp2.4 billion was proposed. (Ahmad Rafiq)
