Gawai Celebration In Seria

Kuala Belait, Brunei Darussalam - The Belait District Officer, Awg Matussin bin Orang Kaya Sura Hj Tuba attended a Gawai celebration organised by the Mukim Seria Consultative Council to celebrate the traditions and cultures of various races in the district.

The event began with a welcoming speech by the chairman, Awg Bakat Anak Ambi, followed by performances of traditional dances of Miring, Ngajat Ngalau Pangabang and Sape.

Students from Ahmad Tajuddin Primary School Kuala Belait also performed the Adoi Adoi dance.

The Gawai celebration also saw a paddy harvesting dance, Liang Chinese cultural dance and other Malay traditional dances performed by members of consultative councils.
