S’pore Police Personnel Experience Local Traditions, Culture
Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam - Seventeen personnel from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) got a closer look at Bruneian culture and traditions during a visit to the residence of Pengarah Haji Mokti bin Md Salleh, the Penghulu of Mukim Tamoi in Kg Ayer yesterday.
Leading the group was ASP Hj Marhan bin Hj Ahmad, Senior Operation Officer from the Brunei Marine Police while the SPF was led by DSP Michael Ben Chee, Operations Officer, Coastal Patrol Squadron, Singapore Police Coast Guard.
During the visit, the personnel from SPF had the chance to experience local delicacies such as traditional cakes and food.
They also had the chance to witness a showcase of the traditional playing of the 'gulingtangan' and 'bermukun' and were also invited to join in a traditional dance.
The personnel from SPF were in Brunei for the recently concluded Inter-Force Games between police forces from both countries.
