Home Affairs Ministry Holds Hijrah Gathering

Bandar Seri Begawan - More than 100 personnel of the Ministry of Home Affairs and departments under the ministry attended a Hijrah celebration organised by the ministry at the Dewan Muhibbah Brunei Muara District yesterday.

Present as guest of honour was the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan.

The event began with the recital of the surah al-Fatihah. This was followed by welcoming remarks from the cochairman of the event, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu, Hj Mohd Daud bin Karim.

He urged those present to learn from the lessons of Hijrah.

He also urged them to heed the call made by His Majesty`s titah to improve and make changes to achieve excellence and success.

This was followed by a special talk on Hijrah by a speaker from Islamic Dakwah Centre, Dato Seri Setia Ustaz Awg Hj Besar.

Towards the end of the ceremony, a doa selamat was read followed by a tausyeh performance.

This year`s Hijrah celebration of the Ministry of Home Affairs was co-organised by the Municipal Board and Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council.
