The Visit of UKM`s Lecturers to BKPBM, Strengthening Harmonious Relations
Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com- Some charming faces appeared among the entourage of several lecturers from Kebangsaan Malaysia University (UKM) in their visit to the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture (BKPBM) on Wednesday (16/7). They aimed to maintain harmonious relations between BKPBM and UKM after MoU signing. Besides, some of them were eager to directly observe the daily activities of MelayuOnline.com‘s crews.
They came to BKPBM at 4 p.m. and were welcomed cordially by the Head of BKPBM, Mahyudin Al Mudra and some BKPBM‘s crews. Amongst the entourage were Prof. Dr. Noriah binti Mohamed – a senior research fellow of UKM, Prof. Madya Dr. Rosnah Baharudin, Prof. Dr. Haron Daud, Dr. Misran Rokimin, Dr. Mawar Syafii, and Dr. Hanapi Dollah. Familiar atmosphere was created during the meeting and some small laughs appeared among the participants.
“We have known MelayuOnline.com for a long time, but we can only visit it right now. We also often access Melayuonline.com,” Noriah said.
Further, they also compared MelayuOnline.com and MalayCivilization.com. “If we (MalayCivilization.com) have a project to compile a million pantuns, MelayuOnline.com amazingly possesses ‘the Thousands Pantun‘ menu on it,” Noriah added.
Some of them seriously observed the architecture of Balai Melayu and Malay cultural properties which are kept well in BKPBM. “Visiting Balai Melayu, we cannot feel the Javanese atmosphere anymore in Balai Melayu, the atmosphere here is truly Malay,” some of them uttered amazingly.
After hanging around Balai Melayu and taking some photographs, they gathered with all Melayuonline.com‘s crews to attempts possible cooperation. On that occasion, Mahyudin elaborated theoretical frameworks and visions-missions of BKPBM taking form into three cyber portals namely MelayuOnline.com, MalayTourism.com, and RajaAliHaji.com. “One of BKPBM‘s mission statements is unifying Malay nations in the world based on cultural point of view. Therefore, MelayuOnline.com is not solely owned by Indonesian Malay, but also every country in the world which has Malay cultural background,” Mahyudin said.
Welcoming Mahyudin‘s presentation, the entourage of UKM conveyed their eagerness to establish cooperation with BKPBM immediately. “Such dreams are impossible to be reified personally, it demands collective works upon supports from other influential parts,” Haron Daud said.
Both sides hoped that this visit could be a starting point to set further cooperation in many spheres between BKPBM and UKM. The visit was ended by souvenirs exchange from BKPBM and UKM as the symbol of eternally harmonious relations.
