BKPBM`s Works Take My Breath Away – the Mayor of Tanjung Pinang

Yogyakarta, MelayuOnline.com- On Saturday (25/10), after receiving Regional Art and Tourism Development Award from Badan Kerjasama Kesenian Indonesia-BKKI (Indonesian Art Cooperative Board) of Yogyakarta; Dra. Hj. Suryatati A. Manan, the Mayor of Tanjung Pinang visited Balai Pinang Limathe office building of Balai Kajian dan Pengembangan Budaya Melayu-BKPBM (the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture).

The Mayor and her entourage were welcomed heartily by Hadi Kurniawan – BKPBM‘s Daily Executive; Yuhastina Sinaro – BKPBM‘s Public Relations; and Nursaed Ali Rido – MelayuOnline.com‘s chief-in-editor.

Soon after arriving at Balai Pinang Lima, the entourage looked around the building, observing the daily activities of MelayuOnline.com‘s crews and the Malay properties that are kept well inside the building. After all, in a relaxed meeting, both sides shared their feelings about each other.

On that occasion, Kurniawan introduced BKPBM and its efforts to develop and preserve the scattered Malay culture in the world. “This institution is dedicated greatly to develop and preserve Malay culture; not only in Indonesia, but also in the world,” he said.

Responding to Kurniawan‘s remark, the Mayor was clearly amazed to see the efforts and works of BKPBM in preserving and safeguarding the Malay culture. “BKPBM‘s works take my breath away. It‘s hard to express my deep admiration for BKPBM as it has complete and interesting information about Malay culture,” Cik Puan (the Mayor‘s nickname) said.

Similarly, DRS. Abdul Kadir Ibrahim, Public Relations of Tanjung Pinang, fully appreciated the existence of BKPBM as well. “Hopefully, BKPBM can be a medium to give enlightenment to the Malay world cultural civilization,” he said.

Unfortunately, Mahyudin Al Mudra, the Head of BKPBM and Director of MelayuOnline.com, could not take part on that wonderful occasion. He was still in Jakarta at the time.

The meeting was ended by souvenir exchange between the retinue and BKPBM. “We all here certainly wish that the meeting can be a gateway for establishing mutually harmonious relations in developing and preserving the Malay culture,” Yuhastina said after giving the souvenirs.
