Chance For Poor Asean Students To Pursue Higher Education
Bachok - Kolej Islam Sains dan Teknologi (KIST) is offering poor students from neighbouring countries a chance to pursue studies in health sciences for free.
KIST Chief Executive Officer, Zaidi Yusof said, two or three students would be selected from each country to pursue selected courses.
"They will study for free for three years and also receive pocket money throughout the duration of their studies," he told reporters after a cheque presentation ceremony for the Palestine Humanitarian Fund, here today.
He said the college`s representatives will be travelling to Aceh, Cambodia and other Asean countries to identify needy students for the programme.
At the ceremony, KIST vice-president Prof Mohd Azman Abu Bakar handed cheques worth RM30,000 to NSTP and Utusan Melayu newspaper representives for their respective Palestininan humantarian fund.
