ASEAN Health Ministers To Meet In Thailand On May 8
Jakarta - Health Ministers of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries were scheduled to meet in Thailand on May 8 following the swine flu issue, a statement said.
ASEAN Secretary General Surin Pitsuwan made the remarks through a press release issued by the ASEAN secretariat here Friday.
The planned meeting of the ASEAN health ministers was proposed by Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen after the swine flu had spread, the release said.
In addition, the ASEAN public Health officials will discuss the swine flu issue with the Atlanta-based disease control centre, the release said.
All ASEAN member countries including Indonesia supported the health ministers meeting, the release said.
ASEAN groups Indonesia, BruneiDarussalam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, The Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar.
