Negeri Sembilan Traditional House
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Pos Malaysia Berhad will issue a special collection of stamps and envelopes featuring traditional Malaysian houses, beginning Thursday.
Its Stamp and Philately Unit head Yasmin Ramli said the stamps worth 50 sen each, featured 16 traditionally-designed houses.
She said envelopes were priced at 30 sen each while folders were sold at RM5.50 each, adding that 1,100 folders comprising a complete set of stamps and envelopes were priced at RM22.10 each at selected post offices.
Yasmin was speaking at the launch of the stamp collection on Tuesday.
To obtain the various new stamp collections, Yasmin urged the public to become members of SODA (Standing Order Deposit Account).
“With a RM50 registration fee, they need not queue at the post office on launch day but instead, the collection will be sent to them directly,” she said.
“Those interested in becoming SODA members could visit the Philately Online website at www.posonline.com.my which also offers other services,” she added.
In a statement, Pos Malaysia group managing director Datuk Syed Faisal Albar hoped Pos Malaysia customers could learn more about Malaysian traditional architectural heritage through stamp collection and philately products.
Among others, the collection will feature Selangor`s Malay Traditional House, Dusun Lotud House (Sabah), Kutai House (Perak), 12 Pillars House (Kelantan), Iban Long House (Sarawak), Semai People House (Pahang), Limas House (Johor) and Adat Minangkabau House (Negeri Sembilan).
