Malaysia, Indonesia Resume Ambalat Talks
Ambalat Island
Jakarta - Malaysia and Indonesia resumed their negotiations Monday over the disputed oil and gas-rich marine territory of Ambalat in the Sulawesi Strait.
The bilateral meeting, held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, will run until Tuesday, Antara state news agency reported.
Indonesia is represented by Director General of International Treaties at the Foreign Ministry, Arif Havas Oegroseno, and officials from the Defense Ministry, Indonesian Navy and National Mapping and Survey Coordinating Board.
The media are barred from the meeting, but the delegates are expected to hold a press conference at the Indonesian Embassy after the talks conclude.
