We are not able to Manage Malay Culture Yet
Yogyakarta- Malay culture has developed since the glory of Malacca Sultanate in the 15th century ago. During that length of time, Malay culture has established interaction and acculturation thus resulted in Malay cultural backgrounds as found in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, southern Thailand, and even South Africa.
“In these days, Malay culture has prospered into various but unfortunately, we not able to manage such diversity yet,” said Rusli Zainal, the Governor of Riau Province at Balai Pinang Lima – the office of the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture (BKPBM) on Wednesday (16/5).
Rusli Zainal and the entourage were welcomed directly by the head of BKPBM Mahyudin Al Mudra. Accordingly, Rusli Zainal was going to observe the daily activities of MelayuOnline.com by himself.
In a small talk with crews of MelayuOnline.com, Rusli Zainal expressed his gratitude towards the hard works of BKPBM and its MelayuOnline.com especially. His wreath about the extinction of Malay culture has now eased off because of the existence of MelayuOnline.com.
“Well, my visit here has answered my wreath that Malay culture will disappear someday. Riau proudly claims as the heart of Malay culture, but MelayuOnline.com, which is located in Yogyakarta – the center of Javanese culture, has something more than Riau province`s,” he said.
Mahyudin thanked to Rusli Zainal for such great enthusiasm from RiauProvince. “MelayuOnline.com and all the Malay people are now waiting for the real actions from you, Sir!” Mahyudin said while laughing.
