Mahyudin Al Mudra is the founder and the head of the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture which was founded on July 4, 2003, and the director of launched on January 20, 2007. represents his deep love upon the Malay culture; the never ending love. Love goes beyond times and places; he will not release his lovely culture, although he has been living for many years in the center of Javanese culture, Yogjakarta.

Mahyudin was born in Tembilahan, Indragiri Hilir, Riau, Indonesia, at July, 4th 1958. He finished his undergraduate program at the Faculty of Law of the Islamic University of Indonesia, Yogjakarta, and completed his graduate program at the Faculty of Management in the same university. During his formal education, he was invited to have a comparative study of International Visitor in New York, Washington, Baltimore and Virginia for three months by The United States Information Agency (USIA). Additionally, he also attended the Department of Philosophy of the University of Gadjah Mada. He is now continuing another graduate program on Cultural Anthropology in the same university.

Besides his extensive works in academic world, Mahyudin heads Adicita Group within which several book publishers are supervised. His serious inclination in providing various books brings him to get several awards, two of which are from Ikatan Keluarga Penerbit Indonesia (IKAPI) during last five years continuously, and from Yayasan Keanekaragaman Hayati Indonesia (KEHATI) inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarno Putri. In addition, his assiduous attention in both preserving and developing the Malay culture also leads him to be acknowledged by many cultural institutions. On November 17, 2003, he received Sagang Award in Pekanbaru, Riau. And on December 7, 2004, he was awarded “Anugerah Kebudayaan” by the Department of Culture given by the Minister of Culture, Jero Wacik.

Yuhastina ‘Naina‘ Sinaro, SST.Par, MA is a culturally beautiful name of this pretty woman who loves pink color very much. She is originally from West Sumatera, but grows into an adult in Java and Bali Island. After finishing her undergraduate program at the Faculty of Tourism of the University of Udayana, Bali, and her master degree in Antropology at the Faculty of Culture of the University of Gadjah Mada, Yogjakarta. Involving extensively in both the Faculty of Culture and, she is urged by herself to reveal the magnificent values encompassed within the Malay culture. This great motivation leads her to be a member of editorial staff of Additionally, she is also the coordinator of Public Relations of the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture.

Samsuni, nicknamed Sam, was born and grew in Soppeng, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. He began to serve as an editor of Malay prominent figures at on January 5, 2007. After accomplishing his undergraduate program in the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga, Yogjakarta, he is now continuing his master program in the Faculty of Culture of the Gadjah Mada University, Yogjakarta, Indonesia.

Yusuf Efendi. He was born in Madiun, East Java. He graduated from psychology sarjana program, Ahmad dahlan University, Yogyakarta in 2003 and anthropology master program from Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta in 2006. He now lives in Yogyakarta, having been working for since 10 Novemeber 2009 as a writer for the site’s Malay Culture column.

Brian Reza Daffi was born in Wonogiri, September 16, 1986. His childhood comics and story books made young Reza fall in love with fiction, which later brought him into a natural acquaintance with language (read: linguistics), a subject he begun to seriously study lately. During his years in English Department, Gadjah Mada University (GMU), he started translating professionally and he has worked on various journals and academic texts. On January 2010, several months after graduating from the sarjana program, the folk-music and movie aficionado started working for as an Indonesian-English translator. For him, joining the team is another learning opportunity. However, the young man, who is of Sumatran-Chinese-Kalimantanese-Maduranese decent yet was born and grew up in Javanese realm, consider his trade is more than that. He is now playing in another scene in the story of his search for cultural identity.

Simple appearance, and looks older then he is, are some of the impression flooding our mind when seeing this man whose complete name is Bartholomeus W. A. B. His close friends prefer to call him Weni than the previous. He originally comes from Magelang, Central Java. He completed Diploma Degree and then graduated from the Department of Information and Technology, at AKI University, Semarang in 2004. Three years after his long journey, he finally anchors to the dock of on July 20th, 2007 as admin staff. During his journey, he always enriches his skill with pile of different skill such as computer and furniture. These experiences make him aware of being a professional in job at which he is responsible, though, his days are always full of smile and joke. “Cigarette and cup of coffee are the perfect combination that always accompany me doing my tasks and achieving maximum target” smilingly he said.

Agus Najib is originally from Tuban, East Java. After finishing his undergraduate program in the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga, Yogjakarta, he worked in the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture in September 2005 until today. He is responsible in preserving and collecting books in the library of the Center.

His name is exactly same with the most legendary American boxer, Muhammad Ali. But unfortunately his body is much thinner and shorter than that of the boxer. He began to serve in the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture on December 12, 2005. His presence is undoubtedly important to support the crew during the work time. Every day, he provides sincerely many kinds of drinks for the crew. His coffee, tea and milk help them to reach a new spirit, and get the sleepiness out from their eyes. Because a pillow and mattress are will not be reached during the work time, those drinks are the only solution.
