Brian Reza Daffi was born in Wonogiri, September 16, 1986. His childhood comics and story books made young Reza fall in love with fiction, which later brought him into a natural acquaintance with language (read: linguistics), a subject he begun to seriously study lately. During his years in English Department, Gadjah Mada University (GMU), he started translating professionally and he has worked on various journals and academic texts. On January 2010, several months after graduating from the sarjana program, the folk-music and movie aficionado started working for Melayuonline.com as an Indonesian-English translator. For him, joining the team is another learning opportunity. However, the young man, who is of Sumatran-Chinese-Kalimantanese-Maduranese decent yet was born and grew up in Javanese realm, consider his trade is more than that. He is now playing in another scene in the story of his search for cultural identity.

His name is exactly same with the most legendary American boxer, Muhammad Ali. But unfortunately his body is much thinner and shorter than that of the boxer. He began to serve in the Center for Research and Development of Malay Culture on December 12, 2005. His presence is undoubtedly important to support the crew during the work time. Every day, he provides sincerely many kinds of drinks for the crew. His coffee, tea and milk help them to reach a new spirit, and get the sleepiness out from their eyes. Because a pillow and mattress are will not be reached during the work time, those drinks are the only solution.
